Technical Skills :

All of the Data Science internships/jobs require you to have some technical skills, be it MS Excel, Python, R, SQL or whatsoever.

To build these skills, one can Start using Kaggle. Having an active Kaggle not only helps you show your skills but also practice them regularly. Being in the data business, you would have to deal with a lot of, well "Data". Since Freshers don't have access to exclusive datasets but they can surely browse the web to get some dummy datasets and build their project on them.

What are the types of projects a fresher should look for:

Data Cleaning: Data Scientists spend majority of their time cleaning data to find something useful out of it. Having an idea of the null values, duplicate values, etc. in any dataset can help understand the depth of it. Such analyses can be done using various programming languages. Here are a few tutorials that might help you get an idea about the same:

Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Now that your dataset is clean, time for some insight discovery. Exploratory Data Analysis is a crucial skill for any fresher as well as an experienced individual. EDA includes a lot of graphical interpretation and statistical findings through those graphs. Knowing the descriptive statistics such as mean, median, standard deviation, etc. of any dataset tells you a lot about it.

Data Visualisation: Finding insights through some code-work is vital. But how does one communicate those insights with the stakeholder as well as their own team?
